The day is named after one or more early Christian martyrs named Valentine and was established by Pope Gelasius I in 500 AD. It was deleted from the Roman calendar of saints in 1969 by Pope Paul VI, but its religious observance is still permitted.

I finally got a Wacom Tablet after waiting over six months. I was supposed to wait for my Birthday but after six months of constantly talking about how much I wanted one, my wife gave in. This is my first drawing using the tablet. I drew her first in pencil and then scanned her in to finish her in Illustrator. I’ve been tempted to try Photoshop, but I find drawings in Illustrator to be so much more appealing to my eye.

There is something about the whole clean look that I really like about Illustrator. I think she’s pretty good for my first Illustration and she’s pretty hot too. Cartoon girls with short hair are way sexy in my book. Ever since I’ve been an early teen I’ve always just wanted to draw girls especially with short hair. I’m still kind of trying to find my style since for years all I ever drew was hot little anime girls. I’ve drawn a couple of other girls and I will post them later on when I get time.
