Ultimate X Men

Ultimate X-Men is a superhero comic book series published by Marvel Comics since 2001. The series is a modernized re-imagining of Marvel's long-running X-Men comic book franchise as part of its Ultimate Marvel imprint. The Ultimate X-Men exist alongside other revamped Marvel characters in Ultimate Marvel titles including Ultimate Spider-Man, The Ultimate Fantastic Four, and The Ultimates.

The protagonists are the X-Men, a group of mutants whose unusual genetics grant them super powers. This sets them apart from the rest of humanity. They are led by Professor Charles Xavier, the world's most powerful telepath. Readers familiar with the original X-Men may recognize many familiar characters and storylines. However, Ultimate X-Men almost completely ignores supernatural or mystical elements as plot devices. The X-Men have no secret identities, and the mutants are mistrusted and hunted down.

The series began in 2001 under writer Mark Millar and artist Adam Kubert. As of May 2008, it is currently written by Aron Coleite and penciled by Mark Brooks. The February solicits indicate that the series will be cancelled after issue 100.

Baby Bugs Bunny

Baby Bugs Bunny 1Baby Bugs Bunny
Bugs Bunny is an Academy Award-winning animated rabbit/hare who appears in the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of animated films produced by Leon Schlesinger Productions which became Warner Bros. Cartoons in 1944. Today, he is the corporate mascot for Warner Brothers, especially its animated productions.

According to his biography Bugs Bunny 50 Years and Only One Grey Hare, he was "born" in 1940 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York and the product of many creators Ben "Bugs" Hardaway (who created a prototypical version of Bugs Bunny known around Termite Terrace as Bugs' Bunny) Bob Clampett, Tex Avery (who directed A Wild Hare, considered Bugs' formal film debut), Robert McKimson (who created the definitive Bugs Bunny character design), Chuck Jones, and Friz Freleng.

According to Mel Blanc, the character's original voice actor, Bugs Bunny's accent is a Flatbush accent, an equal blend of the Bronx and Brooklyn dialects. Bugs Bunny remains one of the most popular and recognizable cartoon characters in the world. In 2002, he was named by TV Guide as the greatest cartoon character of all time.[1][2] His catchphrase is a casual "What's up, Doc?" usually said through a mouthful of carrot.

Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck

Okay, we've looked at both Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck individually, and now it's time to focus on some of the best cartoons in which the two cartoon heavyweights shared the screen (much to Daffy's consternation, I'm sure). Bugs Bunny didn't necessarily meet his match with Daffy, but the two characters played off one another in a manner that seemed more substantive than Bugs' usual battles with the likes of Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam. While someone like Elmer would simple come at Bugs with guns blazing, Daffy would often try to match Bugs on an intellectual level, and usually wind up having his bill shot clean off his face. These are my favorite Bugs and Daffy cartoons:

Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck 1Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck
Rabbit Seasoning (1952): An ever-malleable Elmer Fudd finds himself repeatedly shooting Daffy, despite Daffy trying to convince him it isn't duck season. Actually, it is duck season, but Bugs uses reverse psychology and clever pronoun usage to trick Daffy into somehow begging Elmer to shoot him. There's also an important lesson for all of us in this cartoon, which is that a crazy man with a gun can always be thwarted by a rabbit dressed as a woman.

Beanstalk Bunny (1955): Daffy Duck plays "Jack" in this cartoon. He's duped into trading for magic beans which grow into a giant beanstalk, and in no time at all he and Bugs find themselves at the mercy of a giant Elmer Fudd. The relationship between these two characters is illustrated quite well in the scene where their trapped under a glass dome. Their voices blocked by the glass, all we see is Daffy going insane while Bugs merely stands their, calm and collected (he had a glass cutter the whole time). Eventually, Daffy's greed for the giant's gold gets the better of him, and he ends up playing Elmer's wristwatch.

Duck! Rabbit, Duck! (1953): Essentially a continuation of "Rabbit Seasoning," this short once again finds Bugs and Daffy trying to convince Elmer to shoot the other. Admittedly, the idea couldn't have been stretched too much further, but it's still a great short, and I loved the end when Bugs tells Elmer it's neither rabbit nor duck season, but baseball season. I also love Elmer's line when Bugs dons an angel costume to trick Elmer into thinking he killed him: "Sorry mister rabbit, I hope I didn't hurt you too much when I killed you."

Show Biz Bugs (1957): Whenever I see something on television or on the movie screen where it feels like someone is trying too hard to make a point, or to be liked, I always compare them to Daffy Duck in this cartoon. Upset that he has second billing to Bugs Bunny, he eventually turns their stage show into a competition which sees Bugs Bunny showered with applause while Daffy receives little more than quiet indifference. He does finally get his adulation in the end, but only by drinking a lot of dangerous chemicals and blowing himself up.

Ali Baba Bunny ( 1957 ) : Daffy, probably the first and last duck to travel underground with Bugs Bunny, finds himself in Ali Baba's cave, surrounded by treasure. Seriously, what is it about Albuquerque that always causes Bugs Bunny to become disoriented? Anyway, Daffy's greed gets the better of him, and while Bugs manages to escape the clutches of the cave's guard, Daffy ends up shrunk by a curse.

Bugs Bunny Lola Bunny

Bugs Bunny Lola Bunny
Lola Bunny is a fictional cartoon character from Warner Bros. Studios. She is a female rabbit and has been established as having a romantic involvement with Bugs Bunny. Originally she was planned to be a one time plot device character in the movie Space Jam. However, she proved to be much more popular than expected, and was later included in episodes of Looney Toons.

Lola's first appearance (as an adult) was in the movie Space Jam, in which she is voiced by Kath Soucie. Lola's basketball skills got her a spot on the Toon Squad, in which the Looney Tunes characters battled the villainous Monstars for their freedom, with help from Michael Jordan. The Toon Squad was victorious, and Lola kindled a romance with Bugs. Although she had turned down his earlier advances, she saw him in a new light after he heroically saved her from injury by shoving her out of the path of a belly-flopping Monstar, getting himself painfully squashed under the Monstar's belly.
